- The broken glass in front of the man's face symbolises a threat of death as the glass is jagged and sharp which could easily cut flesh.

- Whereas the white writing of 'Children Of Men' symbolises the purity and innocence of children as well as the hope of new life.
- The cracks in the glass may signify a broken society and community.
- The fact that the movie is situated in the Year 2027 gives the sic-fi film a sense of possibility that this could be the reality of the future.
