Sets and Narrative Strands for our Music Video

Although we are facing many problems with our video we have managed to come up with the idea of a rooftop for our video setting and below are various narrative strands which we could use for our video.

 1) Performance element-would be shot on the rooftop of our classmate which has a very nice large cityscape of London. We will be able to include what our artist wants to see in her video, plus we will convey sense of urbanism and unity because we are on the roof against the whole city. This would be the only element where we see Rosie until the last chorus (where everyone comes together). The rooftop will have fairy lights attached around the rails to make it look more performance element-based and convey the sense of uniqueness of Rosie May.

2) Narrative Strands-we decided that there will be numerous narrative strands which will include different elements but in the end they will all come together. We would like to have dim light on the roof. All these elements would be shot against the green screen. The only thing which would change in the set would be

a) A couple is arguing on top of the roof and as the song goes on they come together, kiss and join Rosie in her last performance element in the studio.

b) Another element of our video is a woman who is sunbathing on the rooftop and there is a waiter in a bowtie who rubs the lotion in. In the end they kiss and walk away together to join Rosie on the special rooftop where everyone is.

c) Another element is quite simple, it is just a woman hanging up washing. We would have a green screen again, and a string from one side to another. She would be dancing along with the song and as she finishes with her washing, she would join Rosie's party in the studio.

d) A group of teenagers are sitting on the rooftop drinking before the main party. Before the main chorus they all go off and we see them dancing with Rosie in the studio.

3) Finale- all the narrative strings link into one big party in the studio. We believe that last chorus has to be powerful and "big" in it's appearance on the screen. Therefore we would like two big projectors in the studio which would be placed behind Rosie as she standing in front of the mic and sings. All the people behind her are the ones we saw in the narrative. Therefore there is a big concert going on and she is the main singer.
