After researching on the internet and finding outfits that our group would like to use for our cast members, I looked on eBay for actually buying these costumes.

Our Album Cover Influences

To create a good album cover we have decided to include numerous aspects which could tell our audiences something about our artist. For the front cover we decided to have a mid-shot of her standing on a roof-top. It would be something similar to Lana Del Rey's front cover but perhaps a little bit different.

 Different in a way that Rosie is actually on a rooftop and we can see the cityscape behind her. This will tell us something about her and where she is from and certainly will emphasize that she is a young urban artist. Therefore, she will be able to address those audiences who live in urban parts of cities. In terms of it's urban spirit our album cover is quite similar to Katy B's cover.

This is because we see how she uses blue colours in her album cover to convey a certain sense of melancholy and sadness. This therefore links with our artist because we are also gong to use blue colours in order to convey a sense of sadness and the "Morning Blues". This would work perfectly because of the contextual knowledge of our song. However, instead of just strong blue colours, we would like to create an effect of blue smoke to make it look as if there is a contamination of the city that makes people happy. The mid-shot of Rosie May will tell us that she is an individual artist and we will learn about her style because we would like to give her retro look. The underlying meaning would be that Rosie is not only aimed at young stupid, brainless and hopeless people but at the older generations as well because of her vintage look.
  On the back of the cd box we would have Rosie standing on the roof top but now with her back turned at us and she is looking out into the city. This would let us look at her appearance in terms of her clothing and style. This would also help attract male audiences because of her sexuality. She would standing in her heels and dress which would mean that "male gaze" is inevitable. Therefore, it would benefit us because we would attract more people to buy the cd and make them feel closer to Rosie because they would not only buy the cd and not download it but have the real cd with her pictures.
  Inside our cd box, the actual CD box would be stylized to look like a vinyl. This is an example of residual media because vinyls are not popular anymore, but by making our cd look like one we are attracting older audiences and are actually making our artist different. We are also making her look more organic because of her
vintage appearance that implies close contact with the past and respect for good old music which unlike modern music was not a piece of cheaply produced and vulgarly presented anodyne synthetic crap (Justin Bieber, Nicky Minaj, Beyoncé, Rihanna etc.).

Costumes for Morning Blues

Rosie May

A simple 60s dress as to not be too overdress and for her costume not to consume all of the viewers' attention. Also the simplicity of the dress helps to maintain Rosie May's timeless impression in her appearance and music. 

Dillon

The drummer boy in our music video will be wearing a classic outfit that either a toy soldier or drummer boy would wear. The alternative outfit for our drummer boy would be a Sergeant Pepper type of outfit due to the 60s theme carried out in our video and the similarity the outfit shares with the other choice of the drummer boy/ toy soldier outfit. 

 

Jemma Warburton

The simple, mini dress with the added consistency of the accentuated collar and knee high socks is an effective and desired look for an extra in a narrative strand. 

Bo Jackson

This classic dress will be worn in our music video. The way in which the dress is hitched in at the waist and flows out in the bottom half adds a flattering nature and appeal to the outfit. 

Philippa Barrett 

The extra will be wearing either a high waisted bikini or alternatively an all in one swimsuit, preferably with a polkadot pattern on. 

Props for Music Video

For our prop list we will need-

A drum for the drummer boy, being one of the narrative on the roof top scenes.

Another prop we will use will be some gardening equipment such as a watering can as well as pots and plants- This will also be another narrative for our music video.

For the sunbathing narrative we will need a deck chair/ sun lounger of a 60s style.

Looking at this target audience page we can see that our perfect target audience would fit into the 'trendy's' category, due to her teenage interests and we can see she is fashionable and cares about her image, this is clear also from her bio of her being a model. Music wise this person is perfect as she 'can't live without a bit of Little Mix, Lily Allen and Lana Del Rey' as well as liking Amy Winehouse! All these musicians are very similar to Rosie May and people who she has taken inspiration too.

Psychographic and Demographic Audiences

Demographic.

We believe that Rosie May would appeal to people who like Lily Allen and Ellie Goulding. Those would be girls age between 13-21. They would like to listen to Rosie May because she would appear unique and different. This is what young girls tend to follow these, days trying to highlight their individuality. Rosie May would be a perfect example of an artist who is a bit sad and "deep" in the meanings of her lyrics. She would attract girls who like to shop because of her star image which seems to be different to what people wear nowadays anyway.

  Rosie May would also attract people who like organic music because of her attempt to create real sounding and beautiful singing. This would allow her to attract people who prefer real singing instead of Rihanna singing. Fact is, although Rosie is trying to approach her audience differently, she is doing it in the same way as many other Pop Stars are, such as: Adele. Therefore she would appeal to people who like similar taste of music and people who are not really bothered with what they are listening to and would listen to anything what is on the radio.

Psychographic.

People who believe in their freedom of choice and young love and liberty and all. Those are the people who would like Rosie May. Moreover, people who are not really bothered to look behind the mainstream music and explore different genres would be a perfect match for Rosie May. People who tend to like parties and of course people who live in London and like the urban spirit of it. Therefore, we can conclude that she is not going to appeal to a very sophisticated audience. young people who tend not to be interested in music and don't really understand how the music industry works and just let very bad music being put in their heads.

    We are falling into the risk of creating an artist who would have a similar reputation as: Rihanna, Beyoncé, Jessie J, Miley Cyrus etc. But because the human flock of sheep cannot quite establish the difference for themselves between good and music, it is not going to make much difference as long as her album is sold.

Urban residents of London may favour Rosie May's music
because of her mutual love for the city due to her urban roots.
